Hi, I'm Christina, a Web & Mobile UI  designer

I'm not your typical make-things-pretty designer—one that only cares about the look and feel. I enjoy collaborating with a team of experts to produce something that's not only beautiful, sleek, and modern, but also functional and easy and with the user's best interests in mind.

About me...

Starting Young

As a 13 year old, my solution to upping my social status was to dive into web design to personalize my social profiles. For my birthday that year, I received Macromedia Studio 2004.

By the time I finished high school, I had taught myself not only Macromedia Fireworks, but HTML and CSS as well. And by then, I was designing social profiles not only for myself, but for dozens of other people in online communities. Design was part of me now, and I wasn't going to miss the opportunity to turn it into a career.

Broadening Horizons

My self-taught knowledge of design tools was broadened with La Roche College's strong emphasis on theory and the design process. The expertise I received at La Roche, coupled with my growing skill set in front-end development, allowed me to bring my print-and-theory-focused education into the digital world.

Other Ventures

  • Pre-Visualization

  • When a movie director wants to visualize a scene but does not want to commit to the cost of building it, the process of pre-visualization can save both time and money. Using location photos and Photoshop, I have collaborated with a production designer on a number of projects to create different looks for a single scene that are then presented to the director for feedback and approval.

  • Professional Hobbying

  • I spend a lot of my free time doing photography—In 2012, I became the beaming mother of my very own fur baby: Zune, my Alaskan Klee Kai.

Because one dog just isn't enough, I've leant my skills to the local animal shelter, photographing dogs for online ads in the hopes that they find their forever home that much sooner!

  • Web & Email Design

  • I am passionate about building a company’s brand and reputation through visual communications.

My experiences, both professionally and freelance, have allowed me to create and improve email designs and websites to better convey the company’s persona and objectives. I also have experience tweaking the visual design of wordpress themes.

Where you can find me

Currently I am working at Charles Schwab as a front-end developer. I code accessibility compliant HTML and OFT emails, as well as occasional landing pages. In between projects there I have been actively learning Javascript and Jquery to further my skill set.
